Description of Event:
On the night of July 10, 2025, at approximately 3:23 AM, Kelly Kurtz exited her tent at a campsite by Devils Kitchen Lake to let the dogs out and use the bathroom. Immediately upon stepping outside, she heard a series of unusual howls originating from across the lake.

- The sounds were described as unlike anything previously heard by the witness despite extensive prior camping experience in the area.
Terry Kurtz was also awake inside the tent at the time and heard the howls clearly. He commented that it was “the weirdest happy birthday he’s ever heard,” as the couple was camping to celebrate Kelly’s birthday.
Kelly noted to her husband that she had no exact identification of the source but was aware of local stories about similar sounds in the region. Terry declined to hear further details.

- Dogs were present but their reaction was not detailed.
